An 85 kilogram fragment of the astronomical object that created Meteor Crater, also known as Barringer Crater, in Arizona about 50,000 years ago. This and the other iron meteorite fragments are known as the Canyon Diablo meteorites after a nearby canyon. Photographed at Focus Terra, the Earth Science Research and Information Centre of ETH, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich.
